Council has two Recycling Centres for the disposal of household waste and recycling of selected materials. The site locations are:

Fairgreen Recycling Centre
Duke Street
Portadown

New Line Recycling Centre
Tandragee Road
Lurgan

OPENING HOURS

Opening Hours have been revised and came into effect on Monday 2nd April 2012.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to give customers time to dispose of materials safely and into the correct containers the closing times are the last permitted entry onto site.  Both sites will close 15 minutes after these advertised closing times.  Both sites are closed on Sunday.

MATERIALS WHICH CAN BE RECYCLED

Glass, cans, plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, textiles and clothing, household and car batteries, TVs and computer monitors, flourescent tubes, cooking oil, engine oil, wood, garden waste, scrap metal, fridges, paint, small and large appliances.

There is no charge to members of the public who use the Recycling Centres however, business users are required to pay for using the site.

Business Waste Disposal

Details for businesses using either site, please click here and for prices.  Businesses may pay online for purchase of Vouchers for disposal of waste at the Household Recycling Centres at  www.craigavononline.com . Vouchers will then be posted out along with Duty of Care forms if requested.

Bottle Banks & Bring Sites

Bottle bank facilities have been provided around the Borough for residents’ convenience to help recycle glass and food / drinks cans. These facilities can found at the following locations:

• Sarsfield GAA Car Park, Derrymacash
• Wolftones GAA Car Park, Derrytrasna
• Silverwood Rd, Lurgan
• Antrim Road, Lurgan
• Cost Cutters, Flush Place, Lurgan
• Castle Street, Car Park, Portadown
• Scotch Street, Portadown
• Meadow Lane Shopping Centre, Portadown
• High Street Mall, Portadown
• Patterson Garage, Gilford Rd, Portadown
• Wrights Garage, Dungannon Rd, Portadown
• Tipplers, Killicomaine Rd, Portadown
• Aghagallon Post Office, Aghagallon
• Magheralin Parish Car Park, Magheralin
• Tesco Car Park, Craigavon
• Tesco Car Park, Lurgan
• Main Street, Waringstown

During 2011/12 over 679 tonnes of glass was collected from these facilities.
