BUSINESS WASTE DISPOSAL

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING USE OF COUNCIL CIVIC AMENITY SITES

Craigavon Borough Council is reminding businesses who dispose of waste at their Recycling Centres to ensure they have registered with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA).

Under the Controlled Waste Regulations, companies or individuals who transport all categories of waste are required, by law, to apply for registrations with the NIEA.

If you have not registered as a waste carrier by 2nd January 2015 you will not be permitted to use either the Fairgreen Recycling Centre or Newline Recycling Centre.

Commercial customers must have a valid registration number or a copy of their registration to purchase vouchers from Council for disposal. As of 2nd January 2015 a copy of your Registration must be produced and retained by Household Recycling Centre Staff before disposal or before any voucher purchased at Craigavon Civic Centre. Council will retain a copy.

Please also have a copy of your registration available while visiting council recycling centres.

For further details on how to register please contact NIEA on 028 9056 9360.
