This web page is managed and controlled by Craigavon Borough Council. It is updated on a daily basis (Monday - Friday) by administrative staff within the Environmental Health Department. Photographs and content from this page must not be copied or reproduced without the consent of Craigavon Borough Council.

Craigycor Kennels accommodate stray dogs on behalf of Craigavon Borough Council. These kennels are inspected and registered by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development DARD. The address of Craigycor Kennels is 8 Grovehill Road, Moira, Co Down BT67 0PW, Telephone No. 028 9261 1285.  To access a location map, please click here.

Hours of opening - Monday to Friday 10.30 am - 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm with late night opening on Thursday to 6.30 pm and Saturday 10.00 am - 12.00 pm, 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm.

The owner of the kennels keeps the dogs on behalf of the council for a period of 5 days and  facilitates the operation of Craigavon Borough Council's rehoming policy. Work is ongoing with approved charities to ensure that as many dogs as possible find a suitable home.

If you have lost your dog and wish to submit its details to the Council to be placed on our lost dogs register please e-mail all details to the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The Dog Warden will then be aware that you have lost your dog and that you wish for him to keep you in mind when he picks up a stray.

The following dogs are at present in Craigycor Kennels is 8 Grovehill Road, Moira, Co Down and will remain there until date stated, unless reclaimed by their owners.

If you wish to purchase any dog(s) (cost £20), you must contact Craigycor Kennels at the above address.

A Dog Licence (£12.50) must be applied and paid for before a dog can be rehomed. This can be done at the kennels.

If you are reclaiming a dog, the fee is £8.50 per day or part thereof, additionally if you do not have a licence, this will also have to be applied & paid (£12.50) for before the dog can leave the kennels.

Irish and Ulster Scots Voicemail Service

The Council now provides an Irish and Ulster Scots voicemail service for any member of the public who wishes to ring using these languages. Simply ring the Council and ask to be put through to the service.  You will then hear a voicemail message in that language and be asked to leave your message.  We will then have your message translated and a response sent.
