Recycling Centre

Council has two Recycling Centres for the disposal of household waste and recycling of selected materials. The site locations are:

Fairgreen Recycling Centre
Duke Street
Portadown

New Line Recycling Centre
Tandragee Road
Lurgan

OPENING HOURS

Winter Hours have been revised and will come into effect from Tuesday 1st November 2011

1st November 2011 to

31st March 2012

Monday - Friday

9am to 6pm

Saturday

9am to 5pm

 

Recycling CentrePLEASE NOTE: In order to give customers time to dispose of materials safely and into the correct containers, gates close 15 minutes before the advertised closing time.

MATERIALS WHICH CAN BE RECYCLED

Glass, cans, plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, textiles and clothing, household and car batteries, TVs and computer monitors, flourescent tubes, cooking oil, engine oil, wood, garden waste, scrap metal, fridges, paint, small and large appliances.

There is no charge to members of the public who use the Recycling Centres however, business users are required to pay for using the site. Please click here for details of charges.

Bottle bank facilities have been provided around the Borough for residents’ convenience to help recycle glass and food / drinks cans. These facilities can found at the following locations:

  • Rushmere Shopping Centre, Craigavon
  • Gate Inn Car Park, Gawleys Gate
  • Post Office Car Park, Aghagallon
  • Sarsfield GAA Car Park, Derrymacash
  • Wolftones GAA Car Park, Derrytrasna
  • Silverwood Rd, Lurgan
  • Antrim Road, Lurgan
  • Cost Cutters, Flush Place, Lurgan
  • Castle Street, Car Park, Portadown
  • Scotch Street, Portadown
  • Meadow Lane Shopping Centre, Portadown
  • High Street Mall, Portadown
  • Patterson Garage, Gilford Rd, Portadown
  • Wrights Garage, Dungannon Rd, Portadown
  • Tipplers, Killicomaine Rd, Portadown
  • Aghagallon Post Office, Aghagallon
  • Magheralin Parish Car Park, Magheralin
  • Tesco Car Park, Craigavon

During 2009/10 over 500 tonnes of glass was collected from these facilities.
