KEY OBJECTIVE

  • To reduce the risk to consumers by striving to ensure that all food produced, imported or sold within the Borough is fit for human consumption; is of genuine quality and composition, correctly labelled and free from contamination.

There are 771 registered food premises in the Borough, including 471 restaurants/caterers and 39 manufacturers/processors.  Some of the main factories produce meat poultry and bread products that are consumed locally, sold in other European Member States and also sent to Third Countries.

Every year, we produce a Food Service Plan setting out our Food Service Delivery priorities for the coming twelve months.

Irish and Ulster Scots Voicemail Service

The Council now provides an Irish and Ulster Scots voicemail service for any member of the public who wishes to ring using these languages. Simply ring the Council and ask to be put through to the service.  You will then hear a voicemail message in that language and be asked to leave your message.  We will then have your message translated and a response sent.
