Tourism development can have a key impact on the Borough’s economic prosperity. By making the best use of existing resources and implementing the Tourism Development Strategy 2009 – 2012, we aim to
- raise the awareness of the tourism product
- improve the overall image of the borough as a tourist destination
- encourage networking and sharing best practice
- address product gaps
- improve visitor orientation and the provision of visitor information within the borough,
We also provide a signposting service for the following:
- Events and Festivals Fund (incorporating the Department for Culture Arts & Leisure Community Festivals Fund);
- Northern Ireland Tourist Board Signing Policy (Brown signs);
- Accommodation start-up guidance;
- Provision of tourism statistics for the Borough;
