Two extremely talented Craigavon Borough Council employees will be showcasing their photographic work as they headline their own exhibitions in Lough Neagh Discovery Centre.
Jonny Kerr, Arts Development Assistant and Danny Gibson, ICT Infrastructure and Support Officer, both have a passion for photography and are now giving the general public the opportunity to enjoy their creative art works for themselves.
Jonny’s exhibition is entitled ‘Marvellous Moths’. Moths are routinely trapped at Oxford Island to log the number of certain species at the Lough. However, when an unusual moth was captured Jonny photographed it with superb detail for their records before it was sent off to an expert for identification.
22 of these photos are now on show along with a film on butterfly and moth trappings while a Marvellous Moths morning will also take place on Saturday 2nd July from 10am to noon.
Following Jonny’s exhibition, Danny will then be showcasing his work from Monday 15th August. He will displaying up to 50 photographs featuring an assortment of wildlife and landscape photos – all from Oxford Island. This is a chance for you to ‘see what you can see’ on the Island and maybe even learn a thing or two about the types of birds and bugs that live there. You will find stunning sunsets, damsel flies, tree creepers, robins, blue tits, chaffinchs, swallows and much more all captured with amazing detail.
So come down to Lough Neagh Discovery Centre over the summer and spend some time perusing either of the exhibitions, enjoy a leisurely lunch or some coffee and cake – it’s the perfect way to spend a relaxing few hours.
